A funny thing happened yesterday; I picked up the keys to our new pub, making me, technically, A Pub Landlord.

I can honestly say, that's never happened before. Obviously the events described above will caused a flurry of questions from everyone who knows me... In order to save repetition I have compiled a list of common questions:

FAQ:

1) What?

My partner, Katharine, and I have taken over the Queens Head in Askham. That's right, the one I used to live next door to.

2) Why?

Because it all just fitted together at exactly the right time. Kath has been in the pub trade before and has wanted to get into the Queens for a long time. I, on the other hand, only have experience of the pubs from the other side of bar, but have always loved the Queens and I'm always open to learning new things.

The pub happened to become available at exactly the moment that we were looking for a new place to live and a new business to take on.

3) Really?

Yup.

4) I thought you were a photographer?

I am still a photographer. My landscape photography is, and remains, my passion.
My gallery is still open, I'm stilling shooting new work and I'm still planning to do another book this year.

I was a photographer when I also happened to run a web design company. I am still a photographer and now I also happen to be a landlord....
